Sleep- so crucial for our well-being yet sometimes so incredibly elusive; especially as we age! On those nights when my mind doesn’t slow down or my joints are achey and keeping me awake, I turn to the ancient practice of Yoga NIdra to lull me into a deep rest. 

Yoga Nidra means “psychic sleep” or sleep with full awareness.  Through a gentle series of visualization and relaxation techniques, you will progressively begin to let go of excess muscular, emotional and mental tensions while cultivating your deepest most heartfelt desires into your sub consciousness. According to Swami Satyananda Saraswati (1998), who adapted and presented the practice of yoga nidra in modern society in the 1960’s “a single hour of yoga nidra is as restful as four hours of conventional sleep.”
